Today in America nearly %20 of the incoming physicians are coming from abroad to fill the vacancies left by the shortage of Doctors due to: The number of available spots in American Medical school has remained unchanged for the past 30 years while we have a growing population, and an aging population. If getting into medical school ASAP is a priority you may want to consider one of these schools most of which accept students 3 times a year. The Curriculum is generally 2 years in the Caribbean and then 2 years in a US affiliated teaching hospital.

There is a certain stigma to some (mostly outsiders to medicine) about attending a Caribbean Medical school but far as job placement is concerned it is usually a non factor since you USMLE scores, residency and interview far outway where you attended school (unless your your interviewer favors alumni from wherever they went to school) Othr common myths include; it's hard to get your documentation every time you are to renew your medical lisceanse, this is untrue though records are usually kept in the school's U.S office and heaven forbid you need a letter from the school it will take it just as long to getting mail out of Hawaii.

I would also recommend UMHS St Kitts, another of the caribbean medical schools. I took a lot of time to check all the options before choosing them, but the choice ended up being pretty easy. They have a strong program and really prepare you for your future career.
